I’m talking about the x-ray film, (when film is used) on which the trillions of particles strike. If you took a digital picture of the XRay you lose information at the second generation. If you then send that and wanted to zoom in on the monitor at the receiving end, I don’t see how you could regenerate the information from the original.

I don’t see infinite resolution being even theoretically possible. But I do agree that the resolution of the original depends on the medium on which the original image is created.
