Ooooh, the excitement over a $1 million win including services. Great news and finally a win for Glassware........NOT.

From the company website the following info on HVE;
HVE Server Virtualization Platform
Server Model - HVE-STAGE - 1U Chassis
CPU - Dual 14-Core Intel E5-2600 v4 Series
RAM - 128-512GB DDR4 @ 2400MHz
NIC - 2x Dual 10GBase-T (Dual SFP 10G, Dual QSFP 40G, Fibre channel available)
Storage: OS SATADOM
Hypervisor: VMWare, Microsoft or any Type 1 hypervisor compatible with Intel

So, Sphere is selling VMware or Microsoft. Not the game changing, paradigm shifting, VMware and Citrix killing Glassware. Why not? Why pay VMware or Microsoft for a hypervisor solution when your own company sells a product that makes those technologies redundant?

And once again, this means that Sphere is a reseller, or a VAR, packaging another company's servers and storage (example: SATADOM from Super Micro https://www.supermicro.com/products/nfo/SATADOM.cfm) with another company's software.

If an investor thinks that recipe is the path to riches, I wish you luck.

"We are tired of development, now is the time to sell, sell, sell" - Sphere CEO Peter Tassiopoulos, Feb 2014
