"The more interesting thing' is that AMD will completely fail to bring a laptop class chip to the market in 2017. This is TOTALLY at odds with their published roadmaps and is an "EPYC" fail. (see what I did their)

Vega is a power hog per every review I have read, and now we see why they had to spin up a 14nm+ process with GF. (i wont even dignify it with the marketing name 12nm).

So now it looks like it will be mid 2018 before you see a Zen based laptop.

As per your option for 2018 , you can rule at 10nm as GF skipped it and you haven't not a snowballs chance in hell of seeing GF release any chip on 7nm in 2018.

Looks like AMD has peaked already. Coffelake blows it out of the water in every review I have read. And AMD will be fighting 10nm with 14nm+ all thru 2018.
