I'm a rock guy too, but I've got a lot of country in me.

My ex is from El Paso and for several years we'd take our 1 wk. a year vacay to see her two sisters in Houston. Since we took in her mother dragging her from a crummy situation in Houston (at my suggestion-ugh)we left her at home in Cincy for that week lol!

One of the sister's hubby was the caterer to the biggest C & W stars by request when they'd come to Houston and the surrounding areas and I mean every big name you could think of. We'd take Southwest which I'd spend the whole flight doubled over against the cabin ceiling and would be nearly crippled for the first couple of my precious few days off. We'd drive straight to the campsite by the Fri Rio in Texas Hill country under a stretch of identical 100 yr. old cedars the caterer brother had set up in advance. He had six of those W.W.1 army tents complete with wooden floors - very cool.

The boys would drop off two pick 'em ups 20 miles down stream and we'd spend the entire day tubing down stream to the trucks with another tube barge in tow full of beer and ice and getting totally toasted in more ways than one. They had three enormous old trunks like the ones people from the early 1900's would take on World grand tours, filled with dry ice bacon, steaks, eggs even fish, everything for 10 people for two meals a day for 6 days.

We spent nights two stepping (in our minds) around the fire pounding back tequila and other unholy firewater 'til 3 a:m only to be woken at 5 from the smells of a huge breakfast sizzlin' on a 6 ft. griddle the catering bro' brought along.

Country has a lot of copycat/ soundalike, but when it fits there's no substitute for the occasion.
