It means they have a very vested interest in seeing the company succeed and the stock valuation go substantially up.
This also means something: The officers and directors have never sold a single share. They are holding for higher valuation.
Maybe 'important facts' like these do not mean anything to inexperienced investors, but seasoned and savvy investors will include these facts in the required DD.
