Veteran: "Those kids have every right to protest"
This photo of a 97-year-old World War II veteran kneeling in solidarity with protesters is resonating with supporters of Sunday's NFL demonstrations. John Middlemas' grandson shared this photo Sunday, saying his grandfather wanted to join with those who #TakeaKnee. Middlemas told the Springfield News-Leader that he was trying to spread a message of peace and acceptance: "I'm trying to say that you have to love everybody... We don't kill people. We want to make people live."
