I very much doubt QMC or its management has anything to do with a short. If they were ever considering that, it would have been back in 2014 or before during the spikes.

Also, USGA was well over a decade ago. There's been no indicator of similar behaviors. That alleged event also occurred in a short period of time after company transfer. It has no symbolism to QMC's almost 10 years of business operations.
