I think we need to differentiate between distribution and dispensary.

Heres my understanding:

Distribution - The one who delivers the product to the dispensaries. I think at this time the dispensaries are just picking the product up from the vendors since the alcohol distributer's route didn't work out. CARSON CITY, Nev. — The Nevada Supreme Court is saying stop — at least for now — to a plan to let entities other than alcohol distributors transport marijuana for sale at recreational dispensaries.

The state high court on Thursday issued an order essentially freezing the months-long distribution dispute until it hears oral arguments Oct. 3 about who is entitled move marijuana from cultivators to retail stores.

The hearing is scheduled before the full seven-member court at the Boyd School of Law at UNLV.

Complaints from pot shops about demand outstripping supply after recreational sales began July 1 prompted the state Tax Commission to say it would let others beyond alcohol distributors handle the job.

Dispensary - My recall is that a limited number of additional dispensary (brick and mortar locations) licenses can be applied for in 2018 (correct me if i'm wrong on that timeline as we haven't talked about that in a while). Mark said they would be applying for at least 3 dispensary licenses in the hopes of being awarded at least 2. He has also said that they have scouted some excellent locations for possible dispensaries.
