EU looks to tax tech giants on revenue, not profit, Bloomberg says
European regulators have tech companies in their tax sights, says Bloomberg. In a recent meeting, French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire told his counterparts in the EU, "that the bloc should agree to a tax on revenue -- rather than profits -- of the digital industry by mid-2018," said Bloomberg. Germany, Italy and Spain, back the initiative, citing the complexity and loopholes of taxing profits, added Bloomberg. Company's that may be affected by a change in the European tax code include Google (GOOG), Amazon (AMZN), Apple (AAPL) and Facebook (FB). Reference Lin
