TCEHY Spotify rebuffed Tencent offer earlier this year, TechCrunch says
Music streaming service Spotify, which according to reports may preparing for an IPO-less listing next year, has rebuffed an opportunity to be purchased by Chinese Internet company Tencent (TCEHY), says TechCrunch. According to TechCrunch, "Tencent is said to have approached Spotify with a view to acquiring the company to extend its burgeoning music business outside of China and Asia." TechCrunch cites a source with knowledge of the matter. Other publicly traded companies in the space include Apple (AAPL) and Pandora (P).
