It's been rumored for awhile. Pretty clear something was up, and COL largely confirmed it a week or so ago. However, price and payment composition was unknown. Merger will drag out to 2018 pending regulatory approval and hammering out details.

On the plus side, there could be other bidders, or a higher UTX bid... or the merger might fall apart and COL stock fall.
