After 33 days of protests in Segovia and Remedios, Gran Colombia Gold
and the Government of Antioquia announced an agreement to formally
develop mining in these two municipalities.

This is a measure by which "Gran Colombia Gold agrees to pay under the
terms of an operating contract the sum of US $ 700 per ounce to those
small mining units that produce up to 80 ounces per month," said the
multinational it's a statement.

For its part, the company said that mining units that produce more than
80 ounces per month, will be paid an equivalent consideration between
US $ 450 and US $ 720 per ounce produced.


"It is the highest price that any artisanal miner is paid in Colombia.
This is a very important first advance, and we will continue to work to
dignify the miner, "said the governor of Antioquia, Luis Pérez
Gutiérrez.


In this way, Gran Colombia Gold announced that it will continue in the
continued support for the mining process, "which we are convinced is
the right way to generate economic and social development, while
