Widow who owns-the-town=CAN'T-WAIT-TO-CLOSE-SALE-AND-GET-OUT-OF-DODGE!!! Ball's in American Green's court, those claiming she won't sell to them are full of it -- her husband bought it for 200K and died last year, "it was his dream not mine" to make something of the town, and if she can abscond with a cool $5 Million... giddyup~

BUT ==

It can be years before the permits and so on are finalized if American Green buys the town -- if I were them I'd negotiate down the price given the paperwork and obstacles involved --

they'd have to incorporate to get around the San Bernadino County prohibition against growing pot other than for personal consumption inside the home, and:

With that in mind, American Green said it plans to incorporate Nipton and then implement its own laws.

That won’t be easy. Incorporation of a community in California is a costly and complex process that can take years, said Kathleen Rollings-McDonald, spokeswoman for the Local Agency Formation Commission in San Bernardino County.

“State law requires a minimum of 500 registered voters and a minimum population of 10,000 residents in order to have a tax base to offset the costs of basic municipal needs such as law enforcement,” she said. “So due diligence appears to be a little short in this case.”

Some would call that an understatement. Nipton — whose first residents were miners in search of gold in the late 1800s — has a population of six.

JMO it'll happen, but not overnight or by early 2018 --

I see some more shorting of this stock for accumulation.

That said:
Can they get around this restriction by selling MJ-spiked water incl. out of vending machines (Rat Fink has some interesting links)? More thinking outside the box? Make money that way until the incorporation thing happens, and they get the requisite signatures? Or bribe some local officials to get around the law (just kidding, not kidding), with the smell of money - tax rev's in a poor county known for tragedies and gangs?

I'm reminded of how when Brits were forbidden to own land in Kashmir in the hills of the Himalayas, they build houseboats which became luxurious homes and the main tourist draws to this day (when it's safe enough to travel there at all)...

People would drive the 2 miles from NV to buy the water and tourists would stay at the currently shabby motel.

Nothing is impossible.
