Very succinctly stated. Much appreciation again.
"Cisco sells the equipment that is used by the cable companies - the encoding part of it. It is decoded at the customer site, which is why the cable companies are being sued. If the cable companies lose, they are probably indemnified by Cisco, meaning Cisco takes the heat for them.
Most cable modems are not Cisco in brand name, but if they are Docsis 3, from any manufacturer, they are infringing. Motorola, Netgear, etc...".
