I would hazard to guess that the hybrid option for EU was Dan's idea, because it allows the conpany an option to re acquire the rights in the future. Probably Dan's maximize future buyout bias. I agree, it's not the preferred option for me. Too wishy washy, with limited appeal to a BP partner.
