PL, to understand how all that pricing works you will need access to level 2. It reveals the ask and bid prices and the number of shares that sit at each price point. Check and see if your trading software has access to it. I have TD Americatrade and get the data from Think or Swim. If you are on a full service software you should have access to it on your platform. You can do training videos on Youtube to teach yourself.
