August 12,13-The rain has continued. Overnight Sunday, and Saturday. Cloudy in the mornings. Sunny and tropical in the afternoon. I've quit to head home before 3:30 both days.

If I continue at the current pace, clearing up about 90 square feet of raised bed, I'll have one completely cleared by next Sunday.

I have 27 brassica seedlings in the soil. More are on the way. Maybe I will reach 100 plants before it becomes too late to transplant. We have such long falls in Zone 7b. Frost doesn't happen until mid November. There can be warm spells in December which triggers the asparagus.

The two Green Globe artichokes continue to grow. The first one I transplanted looked so healthy at first. Now it is recovering. New growth appears every couple days. Maybe I will have both producing chokes next spring.

CC the Calico Cat won't eat the wet food. Turns up her nose. So I went to the supermarket for dry food. She vacuumed a whole cup this afternoon.

The Sugar Baby watermelons are almost gone. Only a few remain in the bed. The fellows like them, which is good. But next year I will switch to the traditional strain, which is more prolific.

The Nasdaq's third tier, the AMEX can be just as bad, and last but not least, the OTC, it seems, are financial venues that reward failure.
