Not sure how you are deciphering that from this chart. His point is Gold is at exactly the high point where it has gotten smacked back down to low 1200's the last 2 times. So, it's either the 'old pattern' and the top is in (save one more attempt at 1300)...OR it's the 'new pattern' and Gold finally busts through 1300 and makes new highs.
