conix -- and, to be serious -- interesting-enough article, if only to flag a/the source of that argument/perspective -- I say it's a case of a guy who has seized upon one rather small/mundane part of a wrinkle in reality (the strong human tendency/instinct to group identification) that's always been there and, for his own purposes/benefit/edification, attempted to turn it into some new Grand Canyon of 'deep' insight/meaning he has 'pioneered'/'discovered' -- substantively, the resultant musings much more Jack Handey ( https://www.google.com/search?site=&source=hp&q=deep+thoughts+jack+handey ) than anything of any particular insight or significance
