OEM=Original Equipment Manufacturer. Saleen is only the OEM on the S7's not the Mustangs, Challengers, Camaro's, Tesla's etc... The S7 had been out of production since 2006 and was produced by the old Saleen Company NOT this publicly traded Saleen Automotive, Inc. company which is a completely different company.
Saleen will have to completely RECERTIFY any S7 or S7R BEFORE they attempt to sell to the public.
Many safety & emission laws have been added in the past eleven years which the old S7 would have failed.
Any 2017 S7R would have to be re-engineered to pass certification. The cost to produce a new S7 now would be much higher than it was in 2006 and the 1st car would cost well over $1M to Engineer and Certify. Saleen does not have the engineering or production experts on the payroll anymore to produce a certified, qualified street legal S7R that they could sell legally in CA or the USA in my opinion.
