The $400,000,000 share buyback option...has barely been in use over the years...


Its a good thing I don't have a say in IDCC "financial engineering"...

I would hire an options expert to run things...Vegas-style...

How's this...When the SP is depressed (like recently)...sell a Ton of Put contracts...5 months out (December)...Take in premiums from $3/shr to $10/shr....2 million shares worth 20k contracts...Credit 11 to 15 $million to cash...and never have to actually buy any shares (most likely)...
because afterwards...raise the divvie by 10c/shr....

Rinse and repeat ever so often...

Most options expire worthless...

Barring a market crash, I believe this would work...adding considerably to EPS...just by "financial engineering"...
