This news truly isn't really something unexpected, as they had already completed a trail nearly identical to this trial for the indication of IV use for complicated intra abdominal infections. So basically this just reaffirmed that previous data. The reason they needed to redo the trial was the fda wanted 2 successful trials and they had failed the uti trial.

What this means moving forward is they could get fda approval for this indication while continuing to complete further trials for other indications and for oral use. Looks like they're thinking of applying for fda approval in early 2018.
