Unfortunately Cott management won't admit it, but if you look back to what Willis tried to do it's very much in line with what Cott eventually did. Diversify CSD, introduce new IP-rich brands/categories (shelf-stable juice, coffee, water), new modes of distribution (DS Waters).

Willis rocked the boat of WMT...very simple. They wanted them to stay the course and be an ankle biter of Coke/Pepsi...and not compete with other brands or worse, give WMT competitors new products to compete with WMT.

Having been an investor in Cott during Willis and post for many years, unfortunately and fortunately i know the story very well.
