June 24-It was overcast this morning, which made it somewhat pleasant before the sun reappeared, which I knew it would. I managed to till up the soil for the cuke seeds that will go in August 1. After collecting a couple of cantaloupes and one honeydew melon, I headed uptown to the library. I knew it would be hot and humid all day and I simply didn't have it in me to stay out there. So I took the bus back to the apartment. I discovered the ladies had prepared a lunch. I brought down some Charentais slices from a specimen which had split. They're still good. But they wouldn't qualify for a market. After four bowls of ice cream I took a two hour nap before returning to the farm to feed CC the Calico Cat.

Another thing. I picked about 35 Rosa Bianca eggplant and brought them to the ladies.

And another thing. I forgot to mention I pickled four 8 oz jars of peppers Sunday afternoon.

I have discovered another butterfly that made a brief visit to the zinnias. It's called a Horace's Duskywing.

Old Cadillacs never die. The finance company take 'em and faaaaade 'em away.
