You also do not know that there is, indeed, a DAILY short report. Once more, it merely will tell one how the day's transactions were flagged and does not purport to give any insight into cumulative short interest. Here are the daily Reg SHO files:

That is right, there is no insight.. no way to differentiate the flags. Only the brokers will have that info. which is not provided.
