JL - this is very interesting and new to me. So according to this, no one would know if V is actually causing more CV events than a placebo until the 60% IA.

Seems risky to me. Yes, we are confident that V wouldn't actually cause CVD, but what if this was some complex drug, say for some type of cancer. Safety checks wouldn't be able to see if this drug actually causes / speeds up cancer.
