I am fairly convinced of the ways things are done in Chile re legal matters, especially big corrupt legal matters (read Pascua Lama Protocol). We keep electing high officials with corrupt funding thus we keep the status quo alive to protect past sins and invent new ones all at the expense most certainly to the average Chilean(read tax evasion and tax structuring fraudulent activities).
CAVAL>>CAVAL>>>CAVAL influence peddling and tax evasion is but the tip of the iceberg in matters thus related. I mention it because Luksic is front and center and has interest in the Pascua Lama project re Barrick Gold relations.

That would be the principal reason of other influence peddling in having Lagos and the CDE not brought into court to testify as to the origins of the Tax Protocol with Argentina.

Heck it's been 20 years of an injunction on one of the principal claim sites and Chile has not been able to make that one go away!
How much time and expense has been squandered in attempting to deal with that matter????

Barrick wrote the language of the tax protocol for Pascua Lama fed it to Lagos, Chile and Fernandez, Argentina who cashed the in the paper bags from the Munkster and voila a two country tax deal for a project with claim inconsistencies re the Tesoros properties.Big jobs data to come, big revenues, but not for Chile they were letting rocks be transhipped to Argentina not Gold! Hey Ferdinand how much did you get paid to let that happen??

Major corrupted efforts are in play to avoid the massive negative financial impacts of discovering the 20 year fraud by Barrick and their market assertions of intact ownership!

Barrick, Penagos have always stated they had all claims to mine in their releases and that the Tesoros properties as well as the litigation going on did not affect their Pascua Lama project. So why all the delays and wrongful acts such as bulldozing the side of the taillings pit to cause a serious environmental problem and having those workers who did the deed paid off to sign on silence and non disclosure agreements??

Barrick is a shit hole in Chile and by what is known in most other places as well!
