There are companies that take this small penny stocks and they blast out any news about them. They try to set it up where they buy a large position before they start promoting it. once they start promoting it they hope to drive the price up quickly and then sell. also called a pump and dump. This stocks volume is too low and there are too many share being held by longs and insiders. it is too hard to buy a large chunk quickly and then be able to turn around and sell it quick enough to make it work.
