It will be fairly easy to handle with the right rate structure. Most all the business and residential customers in the U.S. now have smart meters, so utilities can offer very attractive rates for charging off their peak periods, say 9 PM to 5 AM. In fact, electric utilities would love to fill that gap with additional kWh sales..
