That idea has been around for 50 years...
It is actually a good idea, but will never happen!
Who is going to take their brand new car and brand new battery pack into the corner swap station and swap their battery for some used battery with 80% of the range?
Certainly not me!
It would require a whole new business model for batteries... and who is going to set that up?
Every car model battery pack is unique and built integrally into each car. All car manufacturers would have to agree on that standard pack's dimensions and capacity! With battery technology rapidly progressing, it really isn't feasible.
Heck, laptops and cellphones can't even do that!
Maybe for trucks...
