He is known for multiple patterns of misconduct.
Jerald Scott Bennett (CA Bar #123450) has had his own legal trouble. The California Bar suspended Bennett twice for non-payment of Bar fees. He was suspended in 2004. He was put on ” probation with conditions” in 2007. According to the Ca Bar he took money from clients but didn’t do the work, just to name one infraction. Bennett certainly seems to have a similar background to Madsen and Coker. This is the link to the CA Bar site, scroll down to be able to read the documents.
Another interesting fact is that Bennett had filed a “cyberstalking” case against a person in CA for different client, Peter D Michaels. The case was filed, in the Riverside Court, before our case. Bennett asked for a judgment without ever serving the defendant. The Court issued Sanctions against Bennett. The case was dismissed. Peter D Michaels is another person with an interesting background; he has a felony conviction. Raid, indictment, phandroid article Michaels contacted us, stating he wanted to “buy our judgment”, we did not accept.
The connections (and similarities) between John J Madsen, Michael J Coker, J Scott Bennett and Peter D Michaels are very interesting.
CALIFORNIA 9th Circuit Court Ruling
In January 2014 the 9th Circuit Court in California ruled on the 1st Amendment right of bloggers and others who post information. Read this article in an LA newspaper or read this legal summary of the ruling. What it states, in general, is that people who post information on the internet that could be of value to the public have the same 1st Amendment rights as a journalist. The case is Obsidian Finance Group, LLC v Cox. As you will see, in this site, it is based on legal documents. Some questions might be asked on this site but the questions are ones that would come to the mind of most people.
