The Trump Solar Wall (or The Wall itself) may never happen . . . though
some sort of prototype designs may be small-scale funded and built.
I am thinking its best for the administration to multi-task its potential options for energy tech (including next-stage nuclear power plants).
Same for clean coal and NG.

Fuel Cells and EVs are rapidly evolving into coming energy systems, based on cleaner energy sourcing. Battery Tech is moving so fast, Tesla may find itself with old-generation battery plant tech on its hands at its NV factory. Latest breakthrough I noted was nano-scale carbon graphene that is not a strategic metal sourcing and way more capable storage efficient.

The real energy 'problem' is China is focusing on national funded and project directed alternative energy systems, and is not adverse to lower
pre/unit profit margins to gain market share. Free or Private Enterprise
in the western sense, is not as prepared to compete fairly against such state competitors.

Western capitalism is not at this time, necessarily willing to drop the petro economy. Volvo (purchased by Chinese
Geely) announced its plan to go solely EV and Hybrids by 2019.
No more gasoline engine cars.

SPWR and Total are presently set-up for the new energy economy.
I do expect SPWR stock price to continue to slowly fall, for now.

Its beginning to look like the Carbon Credit Economy is not going away, whether USA states chose to individually support it or not.
Of course, politically The Administration is siding with certain forms of energy emphasis in lock-step with its special interest donors and back-seat base? Which does leave us all wondering what will come from the EU centric process meeting, in coming months.

SPWR thus becomes an investment instrument that brides troubled waters.
