Lovely - what a great idea! Let's make American steel products more expensive, so other countries buy them from cheaper producers instead of from the US - so who is going to buy the American stuff? If Trump says any US project funded partly or in full by Federal money must use US made steel, all that does is force project costs to go up massively, either raising the deficit or limiting how much actually gets done. This deal is a loser all the way around.

I hope the next time there's a news conference on this some bright reporter mentions this part - the tariffs should be DOA after Congress and the public hears this:
