Your statement is false. There has not been a trial date set for the case between SEC and Hemp Inc. You have supplied the board with misinformation.
So far, three defendants have settled Consent Decree. The SEC has delayed the proceedings twice.
The fact discovery deadline is July 17th, 2017. Having already submitted two motions to extend the discovery deadline, at some point, the Judge will decline the SEC any further motions to extend. One cannot uphold the proceedings of a case indefinitely. In this instance, it's the one who pressed the charges that is doing the upholding.
At the EARLIEST, a trial date would be slated to begin roughly around the beginning of next year. At the ABSOLUTE earliest, and there are yet other deadlines in the interim of which could be further delayed by either party.
The true intent of the SEC taking action was time sensitive in nature, and, given they have a job to do, they felt they had an opportunity to take action while they still had time.
This case is weak protocol, at best.
