The reality of the business is there has always been large attrition numbers especially with ISO's with little customer service. It isn't just businesses closing -- but the bigger loss is merchants leaving because they think they can get a better deal elsewhere (usually don't).

When you do not have good customer service (or any/ no employees) and you do not have good sales staff to stay ahead of the natural attrition (or no sales staff) there is an obvious direction the portfolios will go.
