It doesn't matter to someone short against the box what the price does in advance of news. It's what happens after the catalyst and price spike. A very large percentage of stocks that gap up on news, eventually retrace and fill the gap. PIOE could be an exception, depending upon their news and whom they acquire. And if this was November or December the odds for no retracement would be even better.
