The failed FX trial is creating doubt in minds of investors. The drug remains same - so question is - why it will succeed in CX which is actually latter stage of FX ? CX comes after many years of FX which means higher damage is done.

This gives high probability of failure of the trial. In such case - the SP can tank below $1 in Dec ( these stocks take major dump of failed trials)

One can buy $3 Jan 19 2018 calls for GALT @ $0.70 this limiting possible losses to 70 cents instead of more than $1 plus but giving upside in case of success

This option matures after Dec results so allow upside in case of success
