I think Ronin is agnostic to an RS. Short term hit to PPS but if he knows the potential it just becomes another opportunity to increase his % ownership of PPHM.
He must be in it for a board seat, with or without the BOD's approval. As JDM believes he'll bring some order to the classroom. He owns more of the company than both the BOD's and management team combined. Money talks!
What does he know to be so sure to buy almost 30M shares? Remember he took down a lot of the convertible. If price was paramount they would of just kept buying the common. I wonder how his conversation went with Dart.
His experience on the Xencor board gave him knowledge about HALO, one of AVID's customers. My guess is he see's a strong base in AVID with some enticing potential for the BAVI IP.
No one knows what's really going on except the insiders. But the old adage is: follow the money, and the money points to Ronin Capital et al.
Back when Sunrise blew up I stated that AVID was the lifeboat for our investment and maybe in time the BAVI IP would prove fruitful. I still believe that, have added in the last year to average down to where I am comfortable playing out the hand with AVID.
The DS is a big deal for shareholders, just why did the Plaintiffs attorney accept the change in board based on BAVI approval? Doesn't seem logical if we have a screwed up BOD to wait for an approval that may not happen. Why did the BOD relent and agree to numerous "slap on the wrist" controls to their actions moving forward? Though they are not pleading guilty the settlement will be part of the record going forward. Not a great resume for future board seats.
So the Plaintiffs agree to a condition with no timetable! and the BOD agree to governance restrictions going forward. Clear the deck for something.....just what will it be. Stafford probably has a much better idea than I....follow the $!
