I doubt the patent has any practical or commercial value. If it did, why aren't the hundreds of other water purifier manufacturers knocking on his door asking about licensing terms?
There's 1,001 ways to safely purify water and most of them are unpatented.
This whole "OMG a patent!" hysteria is a standard penny-stock tactic to trick naive investors into believing a bad business has value.
