As Paul Craig Roberts points out, the conservatives are even more responsible for the collapsing US standard of living because they're the ones who pushed for globalization and 'free trade' (with the help of pro-Wall Street Democrats like Bill Clinton and Obama), which sent most of the high paying productive jobs out of the country and destroyed the economy.

Roberts says that without these high paying jobs, the US standard of living has steadily deteriorated to the point where today, half of all 25 year olds in the US have to live with their parents because they're unable to earn enough to form independent households and have families.

Roberts says the US is run by an oligarchy/corporatocracy who don't care a whit about the American people, and they're pushing for an austerity agenda that will severely cut/gut the social safety net. Roberts says he's for 'Medicare for all', and that's coming from a conservative from the Reagan administration (Asst Sec Of Treasury) -
