My favorite thing about EKSO is this:

Simply who they are working with.

Also I appreciate how many grants and military contracts Ekso has. The grants received don't show their value in Ekso's books, but the money spent definitely impacts ekso positively so I almost view these grants like money ekso spends on research.

Here's the main point though. When DARPA chose EKSO to give them multiple exoskeleton contracts for their TALOS project, it placed EKSO as the 'exoskeleton core' of a huge multilateral collaboration. Here is a shortened list of the collaborators for TALOS.

GOVERNMENT COLLABORATORS
* Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory
* Lincoln Laboratory
* Los Alamos National Laboratory
* MIT Lincoln Library
* NASA Johnson Space Center
* NASA Langley
* In-Q-Tel

INDUSTRY COLLABORATORS
* Boeing
* Honeywell
* Lockheed Martin
* Raytheon
* Rockwell Collins
* Thales

ACADEMIA COLLABORATORS
* Harvard University
* Johns Hopkins University
* Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)

this isn't even the full list. See the rest:

I'm a huge physics nerd and these guys are who I would be working for if I had a PhD.

I think the greatest minds in the world know a little something about value of collaboration. I think the TALOS project might be the greateset collaboration since the Fifth Solvay International Conference with the following physicists:

A. Piccard, E. Henriot, P. Ehrenfest, E. Herzen, Th. de Donder, E. Schrödinger, J.E. Verschaffelt, W. Pauli, W. Heisenberg, R.H. Fowler, L. Brillouin; P. Debye, M. Knudsen, W.L. Bragg, H.A. Kramers, P.A.M. Dirac, A.H. Compton, L. de Broglie, M. Born, N. Bohr; I. Langmuir, M. Planck, Marie Curie, H.A. Lorentz, A. Einstein, P. Langevin, Ch.-E. Guye, C.T.R. Wilson, O.W. Richardson

Planck, Dirac, Heisenberg, and Einstein used to be the smartest people on the planet. I think the 'complexity of intelligence' is something that is changing too. So in my eyes, these companies are somewhat analogous to the individuals doing scientific research before, but on a different magnitude. Maybe this is a stretch, but it's honestly how I see it.

Perhaps this quote form Admiral McRaven will help convince you (who at the time was in charge of the TALOS project). McRaven was also the person who lead the raid on Osama Bin Laden, communicating directly with the president as it went down.

“The unique collaboration effort is the future of how we should do business,” said McRaven.

A last point I'll mention that since In-Q-Tel is involved, it also likely means LAB-41 is actively involved with EKSO. LAB-41 is a special place where the collaborators can group think. I'm going to take a wild shot in the dark and say it's probably why Steph Curry was advocating for Ekso Bionics exoskeletons. He's of course an Under Armour representative, and Under Armour is actually one of the collaborators on TALOS (helping to test and refine fabric elements, etc.). So maybe these factors are unrelated, but if they are not, perhaps there will be more collaboration between these tech leading companies!
