dffhogs... Buy off "Craig's List" if you live near a Metropolitan
area. I've done this for years using Saint Louis, MO. Craig's List.
Have gotten some great buys this way.

You will probably want to stick with "Windows 7. Also desktop will be less expensive for the same performance.

Personally, I prefer HP. Could also go with a Dell.
