To continue: We recently read the 'Reminder' from the FCC, as you recall if you read that post.

Now there's a switch up that was announced today by Chairman Pai - he's moving the desks and chairs around in the office. More on that shortly.

However, the 'Reminder' did not have the actual signature of the author ( which I found interesting ) so I did some digging to find out who wrote the document. Here's the result:

https://www.fcc.gov/nese-guendelsberger

She's been in various roles at the FCC since year 2000, and has a law degree I believe she earned outside the U.S. in Turkey. In some ways that may have had some bearing on her writing the 'Reminder' that with footnotes seems more like of a legal brief one might prepare to submit in court or for a hearing. Or it could be a "C.Y.A." testament for what just happened today, having been written perhaps knowing that her time was running out for her current position at the FCC? So she wanted to make sure people knew her point of view while she could still publish it.

Nese once held sway over the International Bureau before she came into her present position. However, she is not being sent back over there again at this time.

So Pai has announced today that he is going to replace Nese, but keep her at a different desk in the same department.

Pai said this about Nese in making his decision: " Nese did an outstanding job as acting chief and I’m so grateful to her for that work as well as her willingness to continue to help lead this team,” added Chairman Pai. “And with the unique spectrum challenges that will accompany the 5G transition, it is critical that we have someone with Jim’s experience helping to lead the International Bureau." Jim is going to give his desk over to Nese and Jim is being transferred to the International Bureau.

Just a 'Reminder' - things change, when you least expect them too.
