Rocket Lab’s launch made possible thanks to 3D printing: A low-cost launch system came in the form of the Electron, whose Rutherford engine can be 3D printed in 24 hours. The engine’s main prop valves, injectors, pumps and engine chambers are all 3D printed through electron beam melting, and the engine itself is the first of its kind, using an electric motor instead of gas and creating a more lightweight, efficient machine.
Printed in 24 hours? I've never seen that said before. Outstanding if true. Truth be told, it would be outstanding even if it took a month. A real rocket engine in a day?
