I think it has to do with the lofty P/E of Value Line's 1700 stock universe. It's currently at 19.7. That doesn't leave much upside potential and hence VL's relatively low "Appreciation Potential" on which our v-Wave is based.

Other market measures I follow suggest similar things. Rising potential interest rates from the FED are part of this equation. Even so, measurable speculation is just about average right now and there's not a lot of IPO activity either.

I guess we have to be careful about what it is we wish!!!!!
