NORTH BEND, Wash. -- King County search and rescue crews helped two hikers who became stuck Monday on their way to Snow Lake in the Central Cascades.
Officials said the two began hiking in the snow without snow shoes around 6 a.m., and as they got higher in the terrain, they began slipping and could no longer get traction to walk, according to Sgt. Cindi West with the King County Sheriff's Office.
The hikers told officials their feet were cold and wet.
Rescue crews brought the hikers snow shoes and fresh socks and were walking them out.
