For what it's worth, I finally did sell XIV for a profit. I missed selling near the previous high. I am afraid to sell because it just keeps going up, but I should be happy to trade between about $70 and $80 for a few times, if I can.*

I am looking at the old price numbers, and trying to do some back-testing. Historically, we could have got a 7 or 8 times increase from (the equivalent of $10) to $80 a share over the past 7 years.*

The problem with averaging-down is that the money isn't fully invested, so we might get "a big percentage of a small number," instead of "a small percentage of a big number."*

I hope to eventually find an algorithm that does better than just "buy and hold," although that would have done very well since 2010.*
