Lorsch ran a company called Smartalk during the Dot Com Bubble days. SMTK was typical of that insane period, a diaphanous NASDAQ stock that briefly achieved a market cap of close to a $billion in 1998 before vaporizing in a maelstrom of litigation. But it wasn't a very big business and I think it was never profitable, at least under modern GAAP accounting. Those were wild times and one reason I shun NASDAQ stocks even now.

Until a few years ago Lorsch lived in one of the biggest mansions in the Beverly Hills area. He modestly called it Lorschland. The Dot Com Bubble had been very good to Lorsch. For his investors SMTK shares went to ZERO.

Have you researched his current wife: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0715529/
She was an actress in classics like "Sex Files: Alien Erotica" and "Amy's Orgasm." Her background is well known.

Lorsch is a guy who's feasted on publicity. Indeed PR was his business. Until now.
