Plug and it's fuel cell technology has been around what, twenty years. Plug has amassed a large manufacturing facility obtain large contracts with mega companies yet up until today has yet been close to braking even. NO BS it is what it is.

Mantra on the other hand has just started fine tuning it's new fuel cell technology. July 8 2014, "Mantra Energy Alternatives, announced the granting of the US patent for its Mixed-Reactant Fuel Cell (MRFC) technology. US Patent No. 8,709,680 B2, titled "Mixed Reactant Flow-By Fuel Cell", is the second issued for the MRFC, the first being the British patent GB 2474202 (2012)."

Experts in the field not any body posting here, but the individuals who work in the field have in several journals (many reference on this board) that Mantra type of membrane-less fuel cell is the fuel cell of the future.

Their claims not any poster here, " The membraneless fuel cell system eliminates several of the technical issues related to the use of polymer electrolyte membranes including the occurrence of fuel crossover and membrane dry out. In addition,the membraneless design is less complicated and thus easier/cheaper in fabrication and assembly."

What the experts say specifically about Mantra' MRFC "The MRFC is an unconventional fuel cell that could simplify and reduce the costs of fuel cell systems. Because it uses a mixture of fuel and oxidant, the expensive, failure-prone membrane can be eliminated and the balance of the system correspondingly simplified, offering the potential for a smaller, lighter, and cheaper fuel cell. The MRFC also additionally uses liquid fuels, thereby avoiding the myriad difficulties associated with the storage and distribution of gaseous hydrogen. "
