Nice reality check post. If anyone ever tried shorting a penny stock they would realize how right you are and not try to blame a failing company on ghosts.
Not only putting up the margin of 2.50 a share but finding it to short is nearly impossible. No broker want to buy a penny stock they know odds are against them.
